Key Responsibilities:
-Ready to handle Development work as an Individual contributor
-Possesses excellent understanding of Oracle RDBMS and Database server components.
-Solves least complex problems through evaluation of business processes and industry standards; uses evaluative judgment to make recommendations for process improvements
-Data Modelling knowledge and ability to build data models
-Identify and proactively resolve issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability
-Explore existing application systems, determines areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation
-Communicates ideas and information in a concise and logical manner
-Create/implement database architecture for new applications and enhancements to existing applications
-Create/implement strategies for partitioning, archiving, compression and maturity models for applications
-Review queries created by other developers for adherence to standards and performance issues
-Interact with Database, Applications analysts and Business users for requirements gathering.
-Do impact analysis of existing applications and suggest best ways of incorporating new requirements
-Lead migration efforts on the database side, this would be migrating to Oracle and upgrading to different versions of Oracle
-Maintain standards compliance. Implement localization or globalization of software
-Proactively engage in the remediation of software issues related to code quality, security, and/or pattern/frameworks. Provides guidance and coaching to associate software developers
-Provide guidance on all aspects of software development including compliance with design frameworks, coding standards, optimization of development efforts
-Collaborates with key stakeholders including architects, software engineering, and project managers to report out development progress and escalates issues requiring attention

-8-12 years hands on experience
-Experience in supporting Multi-tier applications
-Experience in different Oracle-RDBMS with focus on Design, maintenance and support of medium to large enterprise/distributed databases
-Good Unix shell scripting knowledge
-Familiar with all phases of the systems lifecycle, from analysis, design and development and deployment
-Experience in end-to-end set up of mission critical applications
-DBA Skills will be required, includes partitioning, instance parameter tuning, backup and recovery
-Comfortable with multiple database concepts, i.e. RDBMS, OODB, ODS, Warehouse
-Expert in logical data modelling and relational database design
-Experience in working with source control systems (preferably Subversion)
-Experience in production support and troubleshooting issues
-Performance monitoring and tuning efforts, suggest changes to improve performance Familiar with NOSQL databases , BIGDATA and Hadoop ecosystem is an added advantage
-Experience in performance tuning using different Oracle tools, like OEM, TKPROF, Explain Plan
-Bachelor's degree in technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience required

-Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills
-Good Knowledge of RDBMS Oracle (12c and higher )
-Good understanding of platform support procedures and concepts

Technical Essential:
-Sound knowledge and hands on experience of Performance tuning and troubleshooting of production database systems
-Experience in analysing production issues from technical (database) and functional (application process) point of view and fixing them within defined SLAs
-Experience in application DB migration, porting and version upgrades across different RDBMS using tools such as bcp, SQL *Loader, etc
-Experience in understanding and implementing policies and defined data security standards both from technical (RDBMS -database) and organizational point of view

-Working Experience on High Availability Systems that utilizes Replication/Mirroring standards/approach in Oracle database
-Knowledge on Linux, AIX operating systems
-Knowledge on UNIX commands and shell scripting

-Experience in Infrastructure design will be an added advantage
-Familiarity with BIGDATA & ETL tools.

-Graduation/Post Graduation qualifications in Computer Engineering (preferable) or any Engineering stream with a very good academic record throughout
-A high degree of Analytical ability and Quantitative skills is desirable
