QA Test Lead

Manager Notes:
Looking for an end to end test engineer who can be an SME. Must know manual, automation, and performance testing.

Looking for experience with a variety of tools, and do not want to box in candidates with certain tool knowledge. Of course the usual tools are important (like Selenium/Java, jmeter, SOAPUI) but there is room for alternates, dont get hung up on a specific tool stack. Focus on strong understanding of performance, automation, manual testing at an SME level.

Assume leadership responsibilities for the creation and execution of detailed test plans and scripts to verify software functionality and adherence to business requirements. Execution of scripts include progress reporting, defect tracking, and risk assessments. Work across multiple cross-functional teams to roll-up all unit and integration tests to execute full system, interface, and end-to-end testing. Test lead will also be involved in shift management for projects involving shifts and also mentoring of support analysts

-The Test Lead will be responsible to approve for all Testing artifacts (i.e., Test Plan, Testing Exit Report, etc.) to ensure compliance with the SDLC and the Audit process
-Responsible for governance and coordination of all testing activities (manual, automation, and performance) between all functional testing teams, monitors testing progress and quality, manages testing defects/risks/issues, and will ensure that the team provides status reports during the test execution phase, including ensuring full requirement traceability and complete regression coverage for all impacted applications
-Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function
-Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business
-Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information
-Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources
-Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required
-Responsible for building the team, interviewing candidates as well as allocating the resources and the testing budget
-Supports initiatives related to the entire STLC process
-Work with technology project managers, development leads, and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach
-Work closely with key stakeholders and the testing teams to understand business and functional requirements for testing teams to develop test plans, test cases and scripts in accordance with the required specifications
-Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements to enhance testing strategies
-Provide metrics related to the cost, effort, and milestones of Quality activities on a project level
-10+ years Testing Analyst experience
-Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how Quality Assurance methodology fits into the SDLC Knowledge of relevant operating systems, languages, and database tools
-Knowledge of defect tracking systems and processes; including change management
-Knowledge of automated regression testing tools and devops
-Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive attitude, always seeking opportunities to add value.
