Description
The Division of Specialized Instruction and Student Support is seeking a Senior Project Manager. The role entails managing vendor and DOE stakeholder relationships at senior levels while managing the timelines for project deliverables, improving deliverable quality, reducing project risk and managing issues. Project team comprises of direct employee staff and multi-vendor resources, project managers and work stream leads. Senior managers/executives with extensive project management, professional services/ consulting background and those experienced in managing multi-million dollar budgets and multi-party programs, are strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving and project management skills are required; also, strong detail orientation and organizational skills, ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps to reach the end goal and experience in executing short and long term strategic and operational goals.

- Manage all vendor and NYCDOE work-stream efforts.
- Report status to the project sponsor and other executives. Monitor and report overall project progress against baseline project plan.
- Understand the key components of the project plan and execute on coordinating the documentation, issues and requirements on an as-needed basis.
- Track progress of overall project plan identify risks to implementation throughout the project, and work proactively to surface and resolve those risks, on an as-needed basis.
- Manage project budget and project administration.
- Perform Risk Management – identify potential risks and issues across all work-streams.
- Work with project management staff members to raise and resolve issues, set project deadlines, and mitigate project risks.
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Report status to the project sponsor and other executives. Monitor and report overall project progress against baseline project plan.
- Act as the liaison to the on-site vendor's support staff.
- Support the administrative requirements of the program including meetings, calendars etc.
- Support the recruitment, selection, and on boarding of new team members.
- Identify gaps in infrastructure and raise issues/risks on a timely basis.
- Assist in planning of current future infrastructure needs for the project.
- Provide operational support to key functional areas as needed.
