Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
Functional Role: Architecture Reporting and Governance Analyst
The role reports to the Architecture Governance Head for Global Functions Technology (GFT), who is responsible for architecture process, oversight and governance for Major Global Bank's Global Functions technology portfolios. The primary function of the role is to lead or support the key programs, governance activities, and day-to-day operational activities of architecture within global functions.
The responsibilities of the role fall into three main areas:
1. Technology Program Management: Management of various technology-related programs, e.g. non-strategic HW/OS platform exit, adoption of enterprise technology platforms, and implementation of technology mandates related to the Portfolio Architecture function.
2. Architecture Governance Support: Coordination and logistical support for key architecture governance functions, e.g. monitoring of ongoing compliance with technology standards and mandates, end-of-vendor-support tracking, architecture-related request management, application portfolio management activity tracking, and engineering work requests.
3. Portfolio Architecture Operations Support: Coordination and logistical support for Portfolio Architecture operational activities, e.g. weekly staff meeting coordination and minutes, Architecture Review Board management, assembly of required Portfolio Architecture metrics, periodic and ad hoc Portfolio Architecture reporting, annual technology planning process coordination, annual and ad hoc architecture data quality management activities, architecture review process tracking, application review coordination, outage review process support, technology audit support, administration of areas of the Client Systems Inventory, Portfolio Architecture SharePoint and web site maintenance, and Portfolio Architecture team member on-boarding.
Specific responsibilities will depend upon the nature of the individual programs, processes, and activities involved but would typically include program strategy development and planning, process management and coordination, process and data analysis, collection of activity planning information, exception process management, status tracking, periodic and ad hoc reporting, drafting of communications, presentation development, coordination with other stakeholders, and providing assistance in addressing questions and concerns.
3-5 years of experience either managing or supporting technology projects
Bachelor's degree required
Solid understanding of project management methodologies including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, and run team meetings
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC), both traditional and agile
Ability to rapidly ramp up on new subjects and synthesize relevant information
Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions based on analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to simultaneously focus on big picture, details and driving results
Highly self-motivated with a delivery-oriented mindset
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
SharePoint experience a big plus
