Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops, implements and maintains business solutions. Works with main clients and project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements.
The Project Accountant position will have responsibility for the oversight, management, and successful completion of multiple on-going Issue Management Resolution (IMR) projects within the Retail Services division. These projects serve to automate existing manual processes with customer level data from the product processors in conjunction with internal Regulatory requirements. This position will manage, track and evaluate day-to-day activities as they relate to these projects, and be prepared to communicate updates to management and other involved parties on daily meetings as required. Responsibilities will also include working closely with our Controllers team to assist with data mapping, data mining, testing, and documentation as required for successful completion of the IMR projects.
§ Effectively communicate requirements and issues with Management, Controllers, and other stakeholders of related IMR projects, to ensure key deliverables are met on a timely basis.
§ Assist Controllers with the testing and reconciling of data as necessitated by the requirements of the IMR projects.
§ Attend daily meetings as required and be prepared to speak to deliverables and project milestones.
§ Effectively represent the Controllers department in a professional manner with regards to effectively meeting project deadlines.
§ Cross-train with current Contractors and departmental subject matters experts to understand current manual processes and go-forward automation requirement.
§ Work with Contractor and other key members within Controllers department to create comprehensive documentation and desk-top procedures of completed and on-going IMR projects.
§ Be able to provide recommendations and effectively communicate with staff members to ensure compliance and accuracy of project milestones.
§ Proven working experience as Accounting/Project Manager.
§ 5-7 years Accounting experience with working GAAP knowledge.
§ Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
§ Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
§ Previous experience with conversions, including testing, data mining, reconciliation, mappings, and queries.
§ Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
§ Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
§ Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
§ Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems management and other key project members as necessary
