Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.


The business office is responsible for overseeing the financial management, resource management, and that the software development process is being managed according to Major Global Bank's standards. The person who accepts this position will be part of the team that performs these functions.

Job Purpose:

This job entails overseeing the financial, staffing and Book of Work (BOW) aspects of managing a 1,100-member organization that bills out $120 million for software development. The need is for a self-starting individual, who does not require much direction, and is extremely adept at "connecting the dots” and providing accurate responses to senior management. A large part of the job is accepting ad-hoc requests which will involve vetting the request, determining how it can be responded to, identifying the data sources required, creating spreadsheets/formulas/macros, validating the work, delivering the response, and following up with any issues or follow-on changes. Our work is usually done against an aggressive timeline so this person needs to enjoy being challenged on a frequent basis.

Job Functions

• Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support.

• Prepare reports and projections based on financial data.

• Create headcount reports and projections based on in seat headcount and hiring data. Develop tracking reports that illustrate the success of new hiring versus budget targets

• Recommend and develop reporting solutions using the latest technologies

• Assist in the management of a portfolio of 120 critical applications

• Evaluate current and previous financial data. Create standard reporting solutions for recurring requests

• Be able to see beyond the current task and while solving the current problem. This person must always think in strategic terms while providing tactical solutions

• Develop a suite of exception reports that can be used by the business office or given to the development teams for self service

• Work with the development teams to provide the necessary financial and BOW oversight necessary for their success

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong EXCEL Skills is a must. Must have strong experience creating and using PIVOT tables and EXCEL formulas and tables. - Deal Breaker if not an expert excel user.

• Technology background with working knowledge of evolving technologies such as Power BI preferred.

• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience preferred

• A background in analyzing requests, working with clients, peers and seniors to elicit information, and deliver quality solutions.

• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a potential leader who can positively and change current process by developing tactical and strategic solutions through the use of the latest technology
